Homework is an essential component of learning mathematics. Students learn new concepts in class, but then need additional time to practice and master skills as an individual. Homework is one way this can be accomplished. As such, it is a requirement and will be counted in the final grade.
Homework will be assigned daily. Each night, students will be assigned between 1 and 10 problems and should plan on spending 20 to 30 minutes per night completing the assignment. All homework is due the following day, unless otherwise noted. We will go over the homework at the beginning of each class. Students will grade their own work.
Homework is graded based on effort, not accuracy. Students must make every effort to complete the work before class.
Because I understand that life is messy and unpredictable, I provide each student with two late homework passes per quarter (9 week period). This gives students up to 3 extra days to complete homework without penalty.
Homework help is available before school from 8:00 - 8:25 and after school Monday through Thursday from 3:15 - 4:00. Students may also contact me via email with questions.
